We needed a new logo for our Brisbane Photography Studio we are setting up in the Brisbane suburb of Forest Lake at the professional suites upstairs in the Forest Lake Village Shopping Centre (yeah our own, working space coming to fruition #wecannotwait) we really needed to get under way as embarrassingly the current two colour logo looked very outdated no longer modern or inspiring and it had to go.
So we set in motion to come up with what we wanted our business to be about and align with our values for our photography business. As a Brisbane Photography business that offers website and business images to engage buyers to your brand we wanted our new logo to be catching and memorable.
So between us we set about coming up with key words that we felt would portray our business values to our clients and at the same time portray a feeling and symbol that stood out. Words like fun, colourful, vibrant, modern, contemporary, futuristic with digital look, after all we are creative digital photographers. Inspired by the bigger companies such as Google and Microsoft whom show a rainbow of colours and what they represented. The bubbles behind the font mean light, fun, and the Neuropol font was easy to get hold of and had that modern digital touch. Simplistic, modern, digital.
We then began to create an ideas board using Pinterest, once we had gathered enough images and styles, along with a list of keywords we set about finding a Graphic Artist to bring it all together. Using Envato (https://studio.envato.com/) We have found graphic designers on here before for our business and this Melbourne business runs the Envato Marketplace with amazing content at your fingertips.
Once the designer was found we gave our brief, mood board and away they went. We had three initial designs and narrowed this down to two, then we asked for feedback using Facebook from our peers, in future not a good idea as it was pretty much 50/50, 🙂 So we choose the one that be represented our brief the most and had it tweaked a little more and hey presto our new logo was born.
