A BIG part of our photography is in Studio Commercial Photography, and we do this for a very varied array of customers, one day we could be shooting gift baskets or scooters and the next day (or in some cases the same day) it might be new biscuit lines or even bags of poo, cow manure that is!
Commercial photography done in the studio lets us totally control the lighting and product placement, in a lot of cases this is deep etched which sees the shadows and the background removed from the images in post production (and on camera) – our customers have very specific requirements and these can differ from client to client, plus some products can be very difficult to photograph – like shiny or stainless steel products, so the studio lets us control all of the conditions, where is outdoors you are somewhat at the mercy of the available light. Thats not to say we don’t shot them outdoors as well, just when required.
And thats what we had last week, we photographed 10 new scooters for Flavor Scooters, check out their Facebook Page as what their guys get up to is NUTS! then an assortment of biscuits for a client, these are colour standards for charts that sit next to the giant ovens that run 24/7 and the staff are required to check the colour of the bake (along with other standards) – its vitally important we get the colour sampling correct in camera.
In the same week another long term customer Rocky Point Mulching dropped off a couple of bags with cow manure and fertiliser that are new to their product range for us to photograph for their catalogues and online marketing, shiny plastic bags make for fun photography – ha and they say don’t work with kids and animals, try shiny things 🙂
